Here is the list of the best extra virgin olive oils in Italy for 2024, winners of the 32nd edition of the Ercole Olivario National Competition. Italy boasts over 500 varieties of olive oil and is one of the world's top producers, ranking second with 290,000 tons in 2023 alone. This is significant for the Golden Oil. Over one million hectares are dedicated to olive cultivation across almost all regions of Italy, each with its unique characteristics, but particularly in Puglia, which produces half of Italy's EVO oil.

Let's discover the best extra virgin olive oils in Italy. A great reference is the prestigious national competition called Ercole Olivario, organized by the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce since 1992. Held annually in Perugia, it announces the best national producers and their top labels.

The 12 awarded labels come from all over Italy, representing the country's finest productions, excelling in the two categories: Extra Virgin and Certified Dop/Igp Extra Virgin Oils.
